Having over 35 years experience in the antique bottle hobby, and recognizing this area as one of the fastest growing segments of the Antiques & Collectibles field for both collectors and Investors, in June of 2000 we started focusing on this aspect of our business.

* In the Spring of 2001 we added a professional bottle cleaning machine, enabling us to clean many of the bottles we recover. Currently we are turning six canisters, servicing our own needs as well as those of clients nationwide.

* Beginning in mid- June 2001 we started accepting items on consignment that compliment our own line of antique bottles & stoneware, and increased our presence in the online auction marketplace.

* Also in 2001, I published a 'how-to' book on Locating and Digging Old Dumps & Privies, to further the hobby by enabling anyone wishing to experience the thrill of digging their own bottles the necessary information to do so.

* During the fall of 2002 we increased our in the field 'digging' time to unprecedented levels and currently maintain a large inventory of artifacts. (bottles, stoneware, misc. items)

* In August of 2004 our eBay user ID was changed to the current "DiggerDirect", several new online auction sites were added, and consignment solicitations were increased.

* In 2005 we implemented some major computer hardware upgrades, new equipment, new facilities and branded the domain name 'DiggerDirect'.com.

* In 2005 we installed new video filming equipment & editing software

* In 2007, recognizing the importance of computers & the internet, as well as the roll they play in today's households, we purchased quality electronic book (eBook) creation software that will enable us to instantly distribute information that includes full color pictures, drawings, instructional text, videos and relevant links to sites of interest for the collector that was impossible with the 'hard copy' methods.

Hello! my friends call me the 'Glassman', my real name is Al. I have been digging and collecting antique bottles & stoneware since I was 12 years old, (now 48), I've always sold, traded or horse swapped these little glass treasures with the 'locals' up until about 8 years ago, when I was introduced to the web, and on-line selling. Since that time I have unearthed and placed in private (& public) collections literally thousands of artifacts from our past.
