I will say here that it isn't the easiest way to make a buck! I figure the exercise & time spent in the outdoors as fringe benefits. But I'm betting that atleast some of you will catch the 'bottle bug' as I did and it will become a life long passion!

Hi!, to those of you who don't already know me, my name is Al Parker, and I have been digging & collecting old bottles for over 35 years. Back in 2001, upon the urging of several friends that I had gotten started in this hobby, I wrote a book on how I find places to dig as well as how I dig them. It was nothing fancy, I just sat at my desk and started jotting down things as they came to mind. I'm about as far from a professional author as you can get but I've always had a 'gift for gab' when it came to bottles and it wasn't long before I had a whole stack of papers in front of me. I put them in some semblance of order and printed up a few on my computer to list on eBay, the only pictures in it were drawings I had made, and I bound it together with staples. I was amazed at how well received it was! Several thousand copies and many compliments later (I really only got one complaint, I had stapled some of the pages in upside down!) I've been finding & digging dumps so long it just seemed natural to me. I never realized there were so many people out there who were really interested in digging their own bottles & artifacts but just had no idea how to go about it, My goal then and still is today that my books will help change that.
